We live in Iowa and it is pretty windy. I have had not 1 but 2 flag poles break off the side of my house. So I saw someone with one of these and thought I'd give it a shot. To be clear you can make this your self for less than 10.00. I was sort of kicking myself for paying 70. But it was here and I wanted my flag up. It didn't take but a day for us to get some rain and wind. Lo and behold my neighbor called this morning to tell me my flag was in the yard. Ugh. It wasn't even that windy. Not a single one of my patio chairs even blew over. The top part had come detached from the main pole. So I'm going to use some sort of plumbers glue to attach it and see if that helps. Anyways, that's my experience in a windy location. If you're looking for that reason too, maybe make it yourself for cheaper to try it out. Maybe we are destined to be a flagless location!
Poorly made, but easily fixable. drill a hole through the bottom and through the metal conduit that goes in the ground, then put a pin or slide a bolt through, to keep it from spinning. Do the same where the vertical piece of pvc meets the connector.
